Terms of Service
Effective 6 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and the Vikalp operator (an individual) for use of Vikalp. Please read them together with our Privacy Notice.
1. Who can use Vikalp
Vikalp is for businesses. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract, and you must have the authority to publish the restaurant’s details. If you sign up for a restaurant you do not run, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
2. Your account
- Give accurate details and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
- One account manages one restaurant on the current plans.
3. Your content and your responsibilities
The menu, prices, photos and text you add are yours. You give us a limited licence to store, process and display them so the service can work, including showing your published menu to the public. You are responsible for your content, and in particular that:
- prices, dish names, descriptions and allergen information are accurate and current;
- vegetarian, non-vegetarian, egg and vegan labels are truthful and follow food-safety rules that apply to you (including FSSAI requirements);
- you own or may use every photo and word you upload, and it does not infringe anyone’s rights, mislead guests, or break the law.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to publish unlawful, defamatory or infringing content, to attack or overload the platform, to access another restaurant’s data, to resell it without our consent, or to collect personal data from guests.
We act as an intermediary for the content you publish. If you or anyone else believes content on Vikalp is unlawful or infringes their rights, tell us through the grievance form and we will review it and may remove or restrict it.
5. AI features
Some features use AI to draft menu text, translations or imports from a photo. AI can be wrong. You must review every draft before you save or publish it, and you remain responsible for the result. These features run only after you give your permission (see the Privacy Notice) and you can withdraw it any time.
6. Plans, fees and taxes
Plans, limits and prices are shown on your plan. Where a fee applies it is stated before you pay, is exclusive of applicable taxes such as GST unless it says otherwise, and is recorded against your account. We may change plans or prices for the future with reasonable notice. Fees already paid for a period in progress are not refundable except where the law requires.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep Vikalp available but do not promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may improve, change or retire features. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or others at risk; where practical we will tell you why.
8. Ending your account
You may stop using Vikalp at any time and ask us to delete your account and data (Settings → Privacy & data). We may end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms. Unpublishing or closing your menu removes it from public view. Records we must keep by law, such as billing records, are kept as the Privacy Notice explains.
9. Our liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit or goodwill, or for losses caused by content you or others publish, by third-party services, or by events outside our reasonable control. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Privacy
How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Notice. When you create an account you confirm you have read it.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters we will update the version and ask you to accept them again before you continue. Continuing without accepting is not possible; you can instead close your account.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India with jurisdiction over where the operator resides will decide disputes, after you have first tried to resolve them with us through the grievance process. Grievance contact, Vikalp is the contact for complaints.
